The Reverend Bradley J. Skogen was installed as Pastor at First Lutheran Church, Battle Lake February 26th, 2017. He has previously served as a pastor at Faith Lutheran Church in Staples as Chaplain at Lakewood Health System in Staples and, since 2007 as Chaplaincy Director at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls.
Pr. Skogen, a native of Detroit Lakes, graduated from Luther College of Decorah, IA and Luther Seminary of St. Paul prior to ordination for ministry. He believes strongly in the values of community involvement and engagement, having served as a volunteer in many organizations, a member of the Lions in Staples and Rotary in Fergus Falls, and on the boards of organizations like The Friends of the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center in Fergus Falls and The Staples Area Community Foundation, while living in Staples.
Pr. Skogen is excited and energized by his return to congregational ministry, “I’m really looking forward to being the Pastor at First Lutheran. First Lutheran has been an important faith home for so many people in and around Battle Lake. I’m excited about what we can do together in ministry and mission in such a vibrant local community, as well as our broader area.”
