Nelson Recognized For 50 Years

During the 127th annual convention of the Minnesota Funeral Directors Association (MFDA), Doug Nelson of Glende-Nilson Funeral Home & Cremation Services was recognized for his dedication and continued service to the funeral profession.
Nelson was recognized with a 50-year service pin during the MFDA awards banquet held this past week, an accomplishment only a small number of funeral directors have achieved.
Doug and his wife, Virginia, have lived in Fergus Falls since 1969 and they remain dedicated to the local communities they have been privileged to serve.  Doug also comes from a funeral service background, where both his father and grandfather owned and operated the funeral home in Brooten. After graduating from the University of Minnesota, Doug served his apprenticeship at Hoplin Funeral Home in Glenwood. Following his service in the United States Army, Doug and Virginia moved to Fergus Falls, where he worked at the Glende-Johnson Funeral Home and eventually purchased the business.
Doug remains an active part of the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home and is dedicated to serving families at their time of need.
