August 7th, the Minnesota Department of Education released the results of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments. These exams were taken by thousands of students across the entire state last spring. The tests are the major indicators used by MDE to assess student academic achievement in each school. I am very proud to share the district-level results of the Battle Lake students with our community.As a district, our primary goal is the academic success of our students. Our students continue to lead the region in academic achievement. This doesn’t happen by accident. It is a testament to our hard-working students, an incredible staff, parents who value education and instill that value in their children, and a community that supports and encourages youth. We value our partnership with you and, as the saying goes, “it takes a village to raise a child.” Congratulations to our students on another year of great achievement!
Finally, we explored the op-tion of setting up a GoFundMe account to help purchase materials for our Makerspace lab. Makerspace utilizes circuits, Legos, Knex and other types of building materials to allow students of all ages to design, build, use their imaginations and problem-solve. Given some of the fees involved with GoFundMe, it made more sense to encourage those of you who wanted to contribute to simply write a donation check to the school with Makerspace written on the memo line. We would also gladly accept donations used Legos, Lincoln Logs, erector sets, robotics and other creative design toys.
We believe we continue to offer students one of the very best educational experiences in the state. If you know of anyone in the area that may be contemplating a change in school setting, we appreciate your willingness to mention our school as an option. As a staff, we are excited about the upcoming school year and are looking forward to the opportunity to support, challenge, motivate, and encourage all of our students to reach their potential.
