Underwood To Benefit From Eagle Scout Project

by Jerry Begley
Boy Scout Bradon Aasen has started an Eagle Scout project to construct a campground in the Underwood City Park.
Bradon has met with city officials, received permission to start the project and is anticipating completion before winter. The selected spot will provide a tranquil, shaded outdoor setting within easy walking distance of downtown Underwood and a long cast from Bass Lake.  Plans call for a parking area, large green space for outdoor activities, individual camping spaces, each with a picnic table and camp fire ring. Restroom facilities are already in place.
Rick Jacobson, owner of Outdoor Renovations has been lending excavation and landscaping recommendations, and will help with part of the project. The Underwood Boy Scout Troop will build the picnic tables, much like the table Bradon built for the Railroad Park in Underwood.
Additional help and financial assistance is needed to complete the project. The troop is conducting a French Toast Breakfast Saturday morning, September 2nd (Underwood Harvest Festival) in the Community Center with free will donations going towards this project.
