Juneice S. Rostad

Juneice Sylvia Lindberg Rostad, 93, a resident of Fergus Falls, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at her Lifesong Home. Visitation was 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls. Services were 1 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls with Reverends Nancy Monke and Dallas Rostad officiating. Interment was at Tingvold Cemetery of rural Underwood.
She was born June 22, 1924 in Leaf Mountain Township, to Charles and Ingaborg (Hagen) Lindberg. Juneice grew up in Leaf Mountain Township, attended country school and was confirmed at Leaf Mountain Church.
June 27, 1941, she married Kenneth Rostad, Sr. in Henning, MN. They raised their family on the Rostad Farm north of Underwood.
Over the years she worked at Medallion Kitchens, Otter Tail Nursing Home and worked hard on the family farm. She enjoyed gardening, making lefse, and hosting her family and friends who would stop in to visit.
Her love for music was evident as she taught herself to play the piano by ear and could play almost any song requested of her. She made quite a name for herself, as she was asked to play piano or the accordion, in numerous local bands and spent many hours entertaining at Lenny’s Dance Barn.
She was a member of Tingvold Lutheran Church and an active Ladies Aid participant.
Juneice showed the love of Christ everywhere she went.  Her encouraging words and love for people were evident to everyone that met her.  Her signature “I’m Okay”, was never truer than when she went home to meet her Savior.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Kenneth; parents, Charles and Ingaborg; five brothers, Clarence, Carl, Hilmer, Art and Ralph; one sister, Christine; two infant children; great-grandson, Bryce Lanoue; and son-in-law, Larry Fleury.
Survivors include her five sons, Richard (Carrie) Rostad of Pequot Lakes, Wayne Rostad of Denver, CO; Chuck Rostad of Las Vegas, NV; Sverre (Tammy) Rostad of Erhard and Ken Jr. (Shelly) Rostad of Fergus Falls; three daughters, Nancy Bee (Nick) James of Las Vegas, NV; Linda Fleury of Crystal and Beverly (Fred) Straeter of Palm Springs, CA; 21 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren with two on the way and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Tingvold Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund.
