Marie B. (Mrs. Donnie) Moen

Marie B. Moen, 72, a resident of rural Dalton, died unexpectedly Thursday, January 4, 2018 at her home.

Visitation was 1-3 p.m. Sunday, January 7, 2018 with a 2:30 public prayer service at the Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls and resumed one hour prior to the service at the church.

Services were 11 a.m. Monday, January 8, 2018 at Our Saviors-Ten Mile Lake Lutheran Church of Dalton, MN with Reverend Weston Moir officiating. Interment was at Our Saviors Cemetery of Dalton, MN.

She was born June 22, 1945, in Fergus Falls, to Sverre and Lena J. (Nelson) Johansen. Marie grew up in Tumuli Township and was baptized and confirmed in Our Saviors Lutheran Church. She attended school in Dalton and then Fergus Falls where she graduated from high school in 1963.

December 19, 1964, Marie married Donald Moen at Our Saviors Church.

Marie worked for Lutheran Brotherhood Insurance Co., Ten Mile Lake Resort, Midwest Bank of Dalton, and then began her career at the Fergus Falls Medical Group where she recently retired from.

She enjoyed gardening, tending to her yard, and being around water, especially going to Duluth to watch the ships. Marie loved her family, and found great joy in her grandchildren.

She was a life-long member of Our Saviors – Ten Mile Lake Church and its Ladies Groups.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Trevor; and brother, Rudy.

Survivors include her husband Donald of Dalton; daughter, Melissa and her friend, Leo Ohren of Evansville; two grandsons, Steven and Taylor; three great-grandchildren, Kinley Rose, Brighton Trevor and Harper Minnie Moen; brother, Reuben (Carolyn) Johansen of Dalton; nephew, Mike (Irish) Johansen of Dalton; and a niece, Kimberly (Greg) Neisen.
