Wilfred Leitch

Wilfred “Biff” Delno Leitch, 85, a resident of rural Fergus Falls, died Monday, February 19, 2018, at Sanford Health in Fargo.
Service was  1 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2018 at Tordenskjold Lutheran Church of rural Underwood with Reverends Mark Johnson and Dan Hurner.
Visitation was  5-7 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018 with a 6:30 p.m. public prayer service at the Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls, and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church
Military Participation was by Underwood American Legion Post #489 with interment in  Tordenskjold Lutheran Cemetery of rural Underwood, MN.
He was born November 8, 1932, in rural Pelican Rapids, MN to Willmer and Alice (Skalstad) Leitch. As a young child, the family relocated to Everts and Sverdrup Townships where he attended country school. Biff graduated from Underwood High School in 1952. After graduation, he worked on the family farm.
In 1953, Biff joined the United States Army – Cavalry Division, serving until 1956. June 2, 1956, he married Marie Mark. The couple purchased the family farm in 1957.
Biff was employed with Mark Sand & Gravel until 1981.  At that time, he started to milk cows and sold the cows in 1994, but continued to farm.  He was a member of Tordenskjold Church and the Underwood American Legion Post #489.
Biff enjoyed doing his chores on the farm, playing cards, being outdoors, and deer hunting with his children and grandchildren. He especially enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins, but was a big fan of all Minnesota sports.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Willmer and Alice; and brother-in-law, Richard Jacobson.
Survivors include his children, Casey Leitch of Sabin, Terry (Jill) Leitch of Fergus Falls, Peggy Leitch of Hewitt, Ricky (Tami) Leitch of Fergus Falls; grandchildren, Ryan (Paris), Allison, Taylor and Dustin Leitch; great-grandchildren, Landon Leitch, Makaya Leitch; siblings, DeLoris Jacobson of Fergus Falls, Willmer Jr. (Marie) Leitch of Fergus Falls, and Vernon (MaryAnn) Leitch of St. Cloud.
