Isaman-Waller Team Wins Walleye Tourney

Stormy and muggy weather didn’t deter the 37 teams entered in this year’s Lions Walleye Fishing Tournament. The team of Jesse Isaman and Chuck Waller placed first with 12 fish weighing 30.71 lbs. at the West Battle Lake Walleye Tournament June 16-17. They received $2,000 and $500 check from Lund boats for piloting a Lund boat to the championship. Total fish caught was 179 weighing 376.32 lbs.

Second place to Chris Sumstad and Brent Jorud with 12 fish weighing 27.91 lbs. Aaron and Natasha Isaman captured fourth place with 19.63 lbs. of fish. Sixth and seventh places were separated by 6/100’s of a pound. Ray Sonnenberg and Alyssa Cariveau’s catch totaled 16.74 lbs. for sixth place closely followed by Mike and Andy Kerzman with 16.68 lbs. Total prizes awarded totaled over $6,800 made possible by the 18 local sponsors that faithfully support this tournament.

Second and third places were separated by only .23 lbs. Tim Schwartz and Bill Longley got third place with 11 fish weighing 27.68 lbs. Tim caught the largest walleye Saturday 7.84 lbs. and received $125.
