Underwood Trap Team

Wednesday, June 13th the Underwood Rockets Trap Team participated at the 2018 Alexandria Championship Tournament.  Along with 324 other high schools representing over 8100 student athletes, this nine day tournament is believed to be the largest youth shooting event held in the world.
The Rockets had an outstanding event with sophomore Logan Aune and freshman Lucas Nelson both recording perfect scores of 50 straight.  Four other Rockets recorded perfect rounds of 25 straight – senior Drake Moore, sophomore Hunter Bosek and freshmen Isaac Bleess and Brohde Fronning.  Top Gun for the team was Lucas Nelson who broke 96 of the 100 targets.  The Rocket’s top five scores totaled 463 which was short of the 475 needed to make it to the state tournament, however this was Underwood’s best tournament finish to date.
Other notable accomplishments were two near perfect scores of 49 out of 50 recorded by Senior Drake Moore and freshman Isaac Bleess plus 5 others shot near perfect 24’s.  There were 31 new personal or season best records established so the team gave it their very best effort.
All 6 coaches would like to congratulate the team on such a stellar performance as well as thank all the parents and team supporters who attended the event.
