Carol Tweten – Vining

Memorial Mass will be for Carol Tweten, age 69 of Vining, Minnesota Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Henning, Minnesota with Fr. Leroy Schik officiating.  Carol will be laid to rest in First Lutheran Cemetery at Battle Lake, Minnesota.

Carol Ann (Kueker) Tweten was born March 31, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois. Her parents were the late Elmer E. and Adele H. (Harsla) Kueker.  Carol grew up in Bellwood, Illinois and graduated from the Proviso High School with the class of 1967. She was employed with a bank for a short time.

Carol was blessed with five sons. She was married for a time to James Olsen, together they resided in Nuremburg, Germany while James was in the service and then returned to Brooklyn Park.

April 28, 1979 Carol married Andrew Tweten in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. They resided in Rogers, Minnesota until retiring in 2002 and making their home on East Battle Lake in rural Vining. Andrew passed away September 1, 2011. Carol recently made her home in New Brighton to be closer to her children.

Carol enjoyed gardening, sewing, spending time with her grandchildren and playing board games with family and friends.

July 3, 2018 Carol passed away peacefully at J.A. Wedum Residential Hospice in Brooklyn Park at 69 years of age. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Preceding Carol in death were her parents and loving husband, Andrew.

Carol is survived by her children: Scott (Linda) Twe-ten of Chandler, Arizona; Doug (Ginger) Tweten of Peoria, Arizona; Thaddeus (Me-lissa) Olsen of Blaine; Ryan (Carrie) Olsen of Minneapolis; Michael (Sabrina) Olsen of Andover; 12 grandchildren; two sisters: Karen (Joe) Santanello of The Villages, Florida and Cindy Hodgson of The Villages, Florida; many other relatives and a host of friends.
