During the Lake Region Pioneer Threshermen’s show, Pastor Mark Johnson (left) dedicated a memorial stone honoring Sanford and Beatrice Skrove. Sanford and Beatrice owned the land where the show now sits and were early supporters of the show. After Sanford died in 1964, Beatrice donated three acres to the show in his memory. All of the original buildings are on these three acres. Subsequently the Threshermen’s Association purchased an additional 40 acres from the family farm on which the show still operates. Many famly members were present during the dedication ceremony including daughters, Leona Zimmerman and Deb Holicky. The beautiful memorial rests on the northwest corner of the church on the show grounds.
