True Love Story … Ranstads Obits

June Irene Ranstad, 83 died August 10, 2018 and three weeks later Carl Richard Ranstad, 88 died September 2, 2018, both peacefully at home under the loving care of their family.
June was the daughter of Donavan and Pearl Hirschey and Dick was the son of Carl and Milla Ranstad. Dick served four years in the US Army, serving in Korea and then in Washington, DC where he was an Honor Guard for The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
June and Dick were married September 28, 1954 in Webster, South Dakota that’s when their love story began and the two became one. They made their home in Battle Lake where they raised their six children.
June was a dedicated and compassionate nurse with Lake Region Healthcare and Dick was a tree trimmer for Swedberg Tree Service, both of Fergus Falls. They enjoyed spending time outside taking care of the lawn, gardening, they loved to dance and enjoyed their cat, Shadow. Dick and June’s family was most important to them and they especially enjoyed their grandchildren.
They are survived by their children, Karen Seviour of Bemidji, Michael (Pam) Ranstad of Battle Lake, Judy Ranstad Lankow of Battle Lake, Patty (Bob) Edlund of Fargo and Lorie (David) Fix of Battle Lake; daughter-in-law, Adriana Ranstad of Florida; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by their parents; two sons, Bruce and Todd; grandbaby, Matthew; Micheal Malecki (Judy’s fiancé) and by several siblings.
For their love story does not end, it will continue in heaven forever.
A Private Family burial will be in First Lutheran Cemetery in Battle Lake.
