Ashby Elevator Signs Lease and Opens

Wheaton Dumont Co-op Elevator (WDCE) announces that the Ashby Grain LLC, a wholly owned member of WDCE and the Ashby Farmers Cooperative Elevator have negotiated and signed a lease agreement that will immediately provide products and service to the Ashby area farmers.
The facility reopened for business October 3, 2018. WDCE will serve as the grain buyer and feed retailer.  Ashby Grain LLC will serve as the seed dealer.

The Ashby Farmers Cooperative Elevator stopped taking deliveries September 10th. The doors officially closed for business Sepember 14, 2018 after the General Manager Jerry Hennessey allegedly spent more that $2 million of it’s funds for hunting safaris, taxidermy and other expenditures.
The local elevator was established in 1908 and generates $1.9 million in annual revenues and employees five people.
