Rosalie E. “Rosa” Jorgenson – Battle Lake

Rosaline E. (Rozi) Jorgenson, 82, of Battle Lake, died Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Lake Region Hospital after a battle with cancer.
She was born October 19, 1935 in a farmhouse in Alsen, ND to Jacob and Caroline (Daum) Pfeifer. She grew up on that farm and attended grade school at the Gordon Township School. She then attended Langdon High School and graduated from there.
In 1953, she attended Minneapolis Business College and worked part-time at Cooks, Inc. in Minneapolis and then went full time. In 1955, Rozi went to work for Holiday Gas Stations main office where she did bookkeeping for 10 years.  In 1962, she married Clifford Jorgenson in Webster, SD. To this union, two children were born, twins, Jason and Janelle. The family lived in Minneapolis until 1968 when they bought a place in Clitherall and operated their business, Jorgee’s DX Gas, Bait & Tackle.  In 1972, Rozi and Clifford divorced and went their separate ways.
In 1985, they reunited in Minneapolis where they work-ed as caretakers of 40 apartments for Johnson Properties in St. Paul for 15 years, retiring to Battle Lake in 2000.
Rosaline is survived by her children: Jason Jorgenson of Minneapolis and Janelle Howells of Battle Lake; two grandchildren: Dustin Howells of Battle Lake and Rebecca Jorgenson of Minneapolis; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Reyneld Pfeifer, Harold Pfeifer and Arthur Pfeifer; three sisters: Phyllis Long, Violet Beiers and Ruth Scott; and the children’s father, Clifford Jorgenson.
Per Rozi’s wishes, she was to be cremated with no service.
