Guyana … ‘Land of Many Waters’

The country of Guyana is located on the continent of South America. It it is nestled between Venezuela to the west, Suriname to the East, Brazil to the south and Atlantic Ocean to the north. In geographical land area Guyana is close to the same size as Minnesota, where the “Land of 10,000 Lakes” is 86,943 sq. miles the aptly named “Land of Many Waters” (Guyana means Land of Many Waters given by the Amerindians) is just a bit smaller with 83,000 sq. miles. While both Minnesota and Guyana have vast forest and a plethora of water that is about where the comparisons stop.
