Linda Johnson – Battle Lake, MN

Linda Johnson, 64 of rural Battle Lake died Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. Linda Maye Johnson was born on February 3, 1956 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota the daughter of Ivan and Ellen (Haukebo) Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed in Zion Lutheran Church and graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1974. She enlisted with the U.S. Navy stationed in Virginia, Hawaii, Iceland, Whales in the UK and Bermuda Islands serving 20 years and retiring as an Oceanographic Technician First Class. Once discharged Linda furthered her education becoming an Occupational Therapist and then later as an LPN. She enjoyed animals, especially her cats and dog, was in theatre productions in Fargo and involved in several plays and enjoyed music and playing her trombone. Linda liked to travel and especially the River Travel Cruises in Europe. She is survived by her mother, Ellen Johnson of Battle Lake; brother, Richard (Judi) Johnson of Campbellsport, WI; sister, LaVon Madsen of Battle Lake; and by numerous relatives and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Ivan Johnson and sister, Louise Couillard. There will be a private family burial at Rindal Cemetery with Military Honors by the Minnesota National Navy Honor Guard. There will be a Celebration of Linda’s Life at a later date.
