At their January meetings, both the Ashby City Council and the Ashby School Board voted to select The Grant County Herald as its legal newspaper. This vote means they will now pay The Herald (versus their hometown paper, The Post) for their legally required notices to the residents of Ashby. The purpose of these legal notices is to inform the residents of Ashby on important items like the annual budget, large purchases and upcoming meetings where decisions will affect them. The Post has been the legal paper for the City since 1983.
