A celebration of life was in Bella Vista, AR for Karen Quastad Dreyer age 87. She was born on the Armstrong, IA farm to Adolf and Regina Quastad, She married Richard Dreyer in 1957 and they are still a shining example of what devoted love looks like 66 years later. Karen’s love of teaching allowed her to impact many lives in both the country schools and Battle Lake Public Schools where she and Richard retired in 1996. Upon moving to Armstrong, IA they co-owned Dreyer’s Diner where her pies, cinnamon twists and orange rolls became legendary. After selling the restaurant, they retired again and relaxed in Bella Vista, AR Karen was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Max and Marlyn; son, Kent; mother-in-law, Alma Dreyer; and son-in-law, Mike Wiley. She is survived by her Soul Mate, Richard Dreyer; daughters, Lucinda and Sandra; sons, Troy and Kevin; sister, Kathleen; 14 grandchildren and eight great -grandchildren. “Grammie, your wings may have been ready but our hearts never will be. Until we meet again … hugs and kisses.”
