Lillian Irene (Vlcek) Boesen – Evansville, MN

Lillian Irene (Vlcek) Boesen was born January 13, 1926 in Lake Mary Township, the daughter of Jerry and Bessie (Plicka) Vlcek. She was united in marriage August 28, 1945 to Clement Boesen in Miller-ville, MN. Shortly after that, they moved to Moorhead for five years where Clement did carpentry work and she worked as a waitress. Then they made the move back to the farm in rural Millerville where she lived until July 27, 2022 when she moved into the Evansville Care Center after suffering several strokes. Lillian worked as a cook and waitress at Country Kitchen in Alexandria and at the DS (Direct Service) Station in Evansville prior to taking the job as a cook at the newly constructed nursing home Crestview Manor in Evansville in 1969 where she worked until she retired on her birthday at the age of 85 in 2010. She enjoyed her flowers in the summer, playing bingo in Ashby and Urbank, bowling in Evansville and Battle Lake, and golfing with her friends at Pine Ridge Golf Course. She loved farming and living in the country. She was an excellent cook and baker. Her specialty was baking Kolaches. She was always happy to share her recipes with family and friends. Her favorite holiday was always Christmas where many trips were made to town shopping and looking for the perfect gift for everyone. Each gift was carefully thought out. Spending time with her family was a priority. Lillian Boesen, died Monday, November 6, 2023.
