Underwood School Board October 9, 2023 Meeting

The Underwood School Board Regular October meeting was held Monday, October 9, 2023, in the Conference Room at 6:30 p.m. Present were Board Members Wold, Meder, Waltz and Albjerg; Superintendent Wilson, Principal Hamann and Business Manager Thieschafer; Student Representatives: None. Absent:None. Others present included: Carly Jensen. Wold, Chair, called the meeting to order at 6:32 PM with a quorum present. Member Meder read Mission and Vision Statements. Motion to approve the agenda (Albjerg/ Waltz: MCU). Motion to approve the consent agenda including minutes of the September 11, 2023 regular board meeting; Expenditures and Financial Report; Seniority List; Interim Principal Contract with John Hamann, Budget Publication for Fiscal Years 23 and 24; and Resignation of Bus Driver Carrie Stachowski (Waltz/Albjerg: Roll Call Voting In Favor: Waltz, Albjerg, Meder and Wold; Voting Against: None: MCU). Presentation on MCA State Testing Results by Jensen. Baker joined the meeting at 6:37 p.m. Hovland joined the meeting at 6:50 p.m. Sem joined the meeting at 6:51 p.m. Committee Reports: Wold on Region 6A. Hovland gave the Activities Director report, Hamann spoke of return as Interim Principal and Wilson gave Superintendent report. Motion to change Mechanic position from 9.5 months to 12 months, which will now include Lawn Care (Wold/Waltz: MCU). Motion to Approve 2-year contract for Snow Removal with Extreme Lakes Area Cabin Care (Albjerg/Waltz: Voting in Favor: Sem, Baker, Wold, Albjerg and Waltz; Voting Against: Meder: MC).
