Wayne Edward Rubink – Detroit Lakes, MN

Wayne Edward Rubink, 53, of Detroit Lakes, MN, formerly of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Lakes Homes in Detroit Lakes, MN. Wayne Edward was born August 25, 1970 in Pelican Rapids, MN, the son of Herman Edward and Marianne (Martin) Rubink. Wayne lived at home until the age of 2, he then moved to the Brainerd State Hospital for 2 years. Wayne then went on to reside at the Jeanne Drange residence in St. Paul where he resided for 28 years. While there he attended a Therapy Learning Program that he graduated from. After St. Paul, he moved to Synstelien Homes for over 20 years before lastly moving to Lakes Homes in Detroit Lakes, MN. Wayne was blessed the last year of his life he and was so happy and doing so well. God Bless the memory of Wayne Edward Rubink. Wayne is survived by his parents, Herman and Marianne “Mary” Rubink of Underwood; sister, Mick (John) Ekberg of Fergus Falls, MN; brother, Troy (Tina) Rubink of Underwood, MN and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents. Celebration of Life was 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Zion-Sarpsborg Lutheran Church in Dalton with Pastor Mark Johnson officiating. A visitation was one hour prior to the service.
