Underwood School Board December 13, 2023 minutes

At 6:00 p.m. the Underwood Truth in Taxation hearing began. Motion to approve Final 2023 Pay 2024 Tax Levy Certification for $1,096,857.88 (Baker/Waltz: MCU). The Underwood School Board Regular December meeting was held Monday, December 13, 2023 in the conference room. Present were Board Members John Wold, Jen Albjerg, Rebekah Meder, Adam Baker and Chris Waltz; Superintendent Jeff Wilson and Business Manager Margie Thieschafer. Ab-sent: None. Visitors: None. Wold, Chair, called the meeting to order at 6:19 p.m. with a quorum present. Underwood Public School Belief Statement was read by Waltz. Motion to approve the agenda (Baker/Albjerg: MCU). Motion to approve the consent agenda including minutes of November 13, 2023; Expenditure/Finance Report, and the following donation was acknowledged: Tingvold Lutheran Church $98 Noisy Offering (Roll Call Voting in Favor: Meder, Waltz, Baker, Albjerg and Wold; Voting Against: None: MCU). Thanks for the generous donation. Committee report was given by Wold on Region 6 of the Minnesota State High School League and Fergus Falls Area Special Education Cooperative. Kyle Sem joined the meeting at 6:28 p.m. Kaily Burgau and Tiarra Veazie joined the meeting at 6:30 p.m. Student Representatives Burgau and Veazie gave the Board a report on what’s happening within the Elementary and High School. Wilson gave the Activities Director/Community Education and Principal reports followed by the Superintendent report. Motion to purchase lawn mower, bagger and trimmer from Battle Lake Standard for $14,268.00 (Baker/Sem: MCU). Wednesday, January 10, 2024 will be a board work session, followed by the 2024 School Board Reorganizational meeting, and January’s Regular School Board Meeting. The World’s Best Workforce (WBWF) and The Integration and Achievement Plan hearing was held. Motion to approve World’s Best Workforce and Integration & Achievement Annual Reports (Albjerg/Meder: MCU). Motion to adjourn (Baker/Meder: MCU).
