Harriet Lundquist, 88, of Battle Lake passed away Friday, March 1, 2024 at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls. Harriet Arlene Lundquist was born February 27, 1936 in Fergus Falls, MN to Winfred and Edna (Johnson) Amundson. She was baptized at the Trinity Lutheran Church parsonage by Rev. Salveson and confirmed in the Trinity Lutheran Church of Battle Lake. Harriet at-tended country school then graduated from Battle Lake School High in 1954. She continued her education at the Fairview Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis graduating as a Registered Nurse. Harriet and James Lund-quist were united in marriage July 12, 1958 at Trinity Lutheran in Battle Lake. They lived in Fergus Falls for two years before moving to their home in Everts Township. Harriet was em-ployed at Fairview Hospital for a short time and Lake Region Hospital for 10 years. She worked at the Otter Tail Nursing Home for 30 years, her last 10 as the Director of Nursing. A member of the First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake, she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and was the organist for over 50 years. Harriet sang and play-ed music for literally 100’s of weddings and funerals. She enjoyed reading, knitting, music, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her four sons: Jon (Julie) Lundquist of Henning, MN; Jeff (Stacy) Lundquist of Battle Lake, MN; Brian (Cheri) Lundquist of Ankeny, IA and Ron (Leah) Lundquist of Kindred, ND. Grandchildren: Tyler (Jenna) Lundquist, Viola, Nora and Max; Edwin (Kelci) Lund-quist, Paisley and Loretta; JJ Lundquist; Taylor (Michael) Tschida; Trevor (Alex) Lund-quist, Winona and Luther; Brock Lundquist; Hannah Lundquist; Josie Lundquist; Brother James (Ardelle) Amundson. Sister, Susan Misterek; sister-in-law, Mary Lundquist; brother-in-law, David Wagtskjold; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were husband, James (Bud) Lundquist; parents, Winfred and Edna Amundson; sister, Carolyn Wagtskjold; brothers-in-law, Roger Lundquist, Eugene Lundquist and Kinney Misterek; sisters-in-law, Arlene Lundquist and Irene Lundquist; and by her father and mother-in-law, Edwin and Altine Lundquist. Blessed be the memory of Harriet Lundquist. In Lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to First Luth-eran Church, 505 Holdt St. W., Battle Lake, MN 56515. Memorial service were11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2024 at First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake. Visitation was Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the church and resumed one hour prior to the service Saturday. Burial will be in the Skibtvedt Cemetery of Battle Lake. Glende-Nilson Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Battle Lake was in charge of arrangements.
