We are honoring our beautiful and vibrant, Lillian Amelia Martin who passed Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the age of 76. Lillian was born June 22, 1947 in Fergus Falls, MN to Arvid W. and Myrtle L. (Waskosky) Leitch. She grew up in Underwood, MN on the “Little Farm” with her siblings, Charlotte, Charlene, Mike, John and Ronnie. As children they enjoyed swimming holes and life on the farm. This is where she learned to love cooking and baking and was known for her delicious cookies. Lil graduated from Underwood High School in 1965 and shortly thereafter, she and Mark J. Kiser were married in the St. James Catholic Church. From that union, Patrick and Julie were born. They lived on the Kiser family farm until Mark’s passing December 25, 1971. As a young widow, Lil made the move to Gillette, WY with Pat and Julie. Lil worked as an office administrator in Gillette for several years. One night while out with friends, a handsome man offered her a seat at the bar Adain (Marty) Martin had won her heart. The two were wed June 24, 1978. From that union, Adain (JR) Martin was born. They built and made their home together in Antelope Valley for the last 44 years. Lil was the proud owner of ChemDry of Gillette for 33 years until her retirement in 2013. Marty and Lil enjoyed many travel opportunities with the franchise. She loved to travel! After retirement, you could find Lil and Marty escaping the Wyoming winters in Black Canyon City, AZ. They kept busy riding side-by-sides around the desert, playing cards and enjoying life by the pool with their friends. Marty and Lil also loved camping with family back in Wyoming during the summer. In 2017, Lil battled and survived the fight of her life, breast cancer and a mastectomy. A true WARRIOR! Lil spent the last 35 years being her grandchildren’s biggest cheerleader. Whatever they were doing, she was there to cheer them on. She supported her family and friends through the many passions and difficulties in their lives and cultivated lifelong friendships that spanned decades. She made it her mission to improve and enrich the lives of others with no judgement and pure kindness. To know Lil was to love her. She was an integral part of our family and filled her home with warmth and kindness. Lil was a joyful presence with her colorful clothes and witty sense of humor. She always had a beautiful smile and the way it lit up a room will be forever missed.
