City of Battle Lake Ordinances 154, 92 and 2024

2023 the Battle Lake City Council passed the following amendment to Ordinance #154 Right of Way Regulations  of  the Code of Ordinances for the City of Battle Lake.  Complete copies of this ordinance of the Code of Ordinances for the City of Battle Lake are available for public inspection at the Office of the City Clerk and on the City’s Web-site:  www.battlelakemn.org 154.15 PERMIT REQUIREMENT.       (2)   Excavation permit. An excavation permit is required by a right-of-way user to excavate that part of the right-of-way described in such permit and to hinder free and open passage over the specified portion of the right-of-way by placing facilities described therein, to the extent and for the duration specified therein. The installation of wires within the right of way for the purpose of robotic mowers is an authorized justification to be granted a permit. The installation of sprinkler systems within the right of way for the purpose of watering lawns, flowers, trees, and other live plants within the right of way is an authorized justification to be granted a permit.  Valerie Martin Clerk/Treasurer (Published August 28, 2024) ———————————————————————————————– BL AMMENDED ORDINANCE #92 On November 14, 2023 the Battle Lake City Council passed the following amendment to Ordinance #92 Tall Grass and Weeds of  the Code of Ordinances for the City of Battle Lake.  Complete copies of this ordinance of the Code of Ordinances for the City of Battle Lake are available for public inspection at the Office of the City Clerk and on the City’s Web-site:  www.battlelakemn.org    (A)   General provisions.    (C)   Nuisance declared. It shall be unlawful and a public nuisance for any person having control of any property in the city to permit or maintain on such property any noxious weeds, or growth of grass and weeds in excess of eight inches in height if the growth of grass and weeds occupies an area of at least 100 square feet and is located within 100 feet of the property line of a developed or platted parcel or within any platted property. No owner shall permit such weeds and grass to be a public nuisance but shall abate the nuisance by cutting the weeds and grass and removing the clippings. Such clippings shall not be deposited in a manner to create areas which the vegetation will be ruined/killed.     Valerie J.
