Elinor Ann Krahn – Battle Lake, MN

Elinor Ann Krahn, nee Homfeld, 94, of Battle Lake, Minnesota died Saturday, September 28, 2024. Elinor was born March 24, 1930 in Porter County, Indiana to Herman and Emma Homfeld, and raised on a dairy farm. Elinor graduated with a degree in chemistry from Valparaiso University and then worked as a research chemist at Abbott Laboratories in Illinois. She married Kenneth Krahn in 1954. They were married nearly 70 years. Elinor also worked as an office manager in Mason City, Iowa. In later years, Elinor enjoyed quilting and volunteering at Eagle Lake Lutheran Church. Elinor is survived by three children, Paula, Walter and Joanna; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Eagle Lake Lutheran Church, 15456 County Highway 81, Battle Lake, MN 56515 or to a charity of the donor’s choice. A Memorial Service was already 2 p.m. Thursday October 3, 2024 at Eagle Lake Lutheran Church in Battle Lake.
