Jim Lukken – Surprise, AZ

Jim Lukken died Monday, October 7, 2024 with his family by his side at Mosaic Gardens Memory Care in Surprise, Arizona. Jim was born May 9, 1942 in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota to Arnold and Norma Luk-ken. He attended Battle Lake High School and graduated in 1960. After graduation, Jim served his country in the Army for 4 years before returning back to Minnesota. Jim married Sue November 28, 1964 in Battle Lake, Minnesota. He was a sheet-rock finisher and worked with his father-in-the-law, LeRoy Brown before taking over the business in 1989 and running Lukken Drywall with his wife. Jim and Sue raised their family in Otter Tail County and lived there for the majority of their lives together. Jim is remembered as a loving husband, father and grandpa as well as a wonderful friend to many. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sue Lukken; two children, Cory (Jodi) Lukken of Verndale and Lori (Barry) Fabian of Scottsdale, Arizona; three grandchildren, Zachary (Lea) Fabian, Carley Fabian and Alexis Fabian; two great-grandchildren, Zoe and Keira Fabian; four sisters, Marlys Hardekopf of Parkers Prairie, Shar (Gerald) Jorgensen, Sandy Tost-enson of Fergus Falls and Susan Lukken of Minneapolis; one brother, Jeffrey (Kay) Lukken of Clitherall; and by relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Norm and Les Lukken; and daughter, Kimberly Sue Lukken. The funeral will be Wed-nesday, October 16, 2024 at 1 p.m. in First Lutheran Church at Battle Lake. The visitation will be at the church two hours prior to the service.
