Nancy Jonson Miller – Moorhead, MN

Nancy Jonson Miller, 63, of Moorhead, MN passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND. Nancy J. Jonson was born January 18, 1961 in Fergus Falls, MN to John and Irene (Holt) Jonson. She grew up in Battle Lake, MN and graduated from high school in 1979. She continued her schooling at Alexandria Technical College where she received a dietary degree. She started her career in dietary at the Battle Lake Nursing Home before moving to Fargo, ND. Nancy married Timothy Miller July 1, 1989 at First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake. They lived in the Fargo Moorhead area where she worked for 37 years at Beth-any Retirement Living in the dietary department. Her time there included being a manager and retiring as the director of the department in May of 2023. She loved her family and friends, and was always think- ing of others. Nancy played the role of being Tim’s “life coach” keeping him on life’s journey and making sure he was eating right as well. Nancy had a love for life. She enjoyed travels in her Volkswagen bug and taking her greatnieces, Maddie, Kenley and Ella for a ride. She also cherished time going to their school activities as well. Her hobbies included cook-ing, baking, sewing, reading, bowling, golfing and making jewelry. She enjoyed time spent at the lake and warm weather along with her canine companions. Nancy is survived by her husband, Tim; special ne-phew and niece, John and Lacey Severson, and their daughters, Maddie, Kenley and Ella; nephew, Robert (Elidia); niece, Kelley; and nephew, Gary (Kristi); brother, Gary (Peggy) Jonson; brother-in-law, Orly Bjerket-vedt; along with Tim’s family: siblings, Cathy (Gordy) Nichols, Cindy Skalsky, Pastor Mike (Rachelle) Miller, Tom (Melanie) Miller and Terry (Sherry) Miller; sister-in-law, Trona Miller; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and great-nieces and ne-phews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Rita Bjerketvedt; Tim’s family: his parents, Myron and Ruby Miller; brother, Mark Miller; and brother-in-law, Ed Skal-sky. Visitation will be Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Dilworth Lutheran Church in Dilworth, MN. Funeral is Friday, November 15 at 11 a.m. at Dilworth Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Ada (MN) Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society or the 4 Luv of Dogs Rescue in Fargo. As a breast cancer survivor, Nancy exhibited a passion for life and in death her passion lives on as an organ donor with Lifesource.
