Yvonne Hildebrand, 96, of Kulm, ND died Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Twin Town Villa Assisted Living in Breckenridge, MN. A memorial service was Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 11 a.m. at First Congregational Church, Kulm. Burial took place at First Congregational Cemetery. A live-stream of Yvonne’s service will be available on the funeral home website. Yvonne was born August 20, 1928 at Swede Township, ND to Clarence and Minnie (Ogren) Kinslow. She was raised on a farm in Swede Township and attended country school. She graduated from Kulm High School in 1946. She went on to attend Aviation school in Minneapolis, MN and be-came an air traffic controller.While attending college she worked at Montgomery Wards in St. Paul, MN and would travel back to Kulm by train. Yvonne married Elmer Hildebrand March 14, 1948 at First Congregational Church at Kulm. During their first year of marriage, she traveled south with Elmer and three of his friends to go custom combining. Following that they settled on a farm 10 miles south of Kulm where they farmed and ranched for several years. In 1973 Elmer and Yvonne moved into Kulm but continued to farm. She also sold Watkins products and Avon products for several years and re-ceived numerous rewards from the Avon company. Elmer and Yvonne enjoyed spending the winters in Arizona for over 35 years and traveled to places like the Panama Canal on a cruise. After Elmer passed in 2005, Yvonne continued to live in Kulm and spend winters in Arizona for several years and took the trip of a lifetime to Hawaii. She eventually moved to the Edgeley Manor and currently resided at Twin Town Villa in Breckenridge, MN. Yvonne enjoyed sewing and was a very talented seamstress, making dresses and suits for any special occasion. She made all three of her daughter’s wedding dresses, bridesmaid dress es and flower girl dresses. She also made many of Elmer’s suit jackets. She loved gardening and took great pride in her flowers. She also was an excellent baker and would never turn down a good bowl of ice cream. Most of all Yvonne loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of the First Congregational Church, Dorcas Society and the Northwest Thrifty Homemakers Club. She volunteered as a Den Mother for the cub scouts and was a youth director for the Kulm Community Farmers Union for 20 years. Yvonne is survived by her children, Nancy Tjernlund, Crysta Hanson and Mark (Brenda) Hildebrand; 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Dennis Kinslow; sister, Charlotte Sims; sister-in-law, Bea Kinslow; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: father and mother-in-law, Adolph and Emily Hildebrand; husband, Elmer; daughter, Gloriann Heidinger; grandchildren, Shay Heidinger and Anna Heidinger; sons-in-law, Ho-ward Tjernlund, Rick Hanson and Eddie Heidinger; brother, Skip Kinslow; sisters, Joann Mogck and Joyce Gahner; brothers-in-law, Ot-to Gahner, Lee Sims and Archie Mogck; sister-in-law, Maxine Kinslow.
