Lillias Leialoha – Clitherall, MN

Lillias Leialoha, 93, of Clitherall, MN and Hilo, HI, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025. Lillias had been residing at her daughter’s home in Clarinda, IA. Lillias Rotzien Leialoha, only child to George Kremer and Eunice Evelyn (Rotzien) Kremer, was born July 13, 1932 in Minneapolis, MN. She grew up on Clitherall Lake in Clitherall, MN living with her grandparents, Frank and Kate Rotzien. While attending Graceland College in Lamoni, IA she met her future husband, George Fern Lehua Leialoha of Hilo, HI. They were married March 1, 1952 in Lamoni. They had three daughters: Debbi, Shelly (Duane Hartstack) and Sherry (Rodney Waipa). Lillias was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed cooking and entertaining her friends and family. She also worked and retired from United Airlines. Lillias and George en-joyed in their retirement years traveling between their homes in Hilo, HI and Clitherall, MN. They also added a home in Independence, MO later to be close to their daughters and grandchildren living in the Midwest. Lillias was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Left to cherish Lillias’ memory are her daughters, five grandsons and 14 great-grandchildren. Lillias is also survived by two cousins, Don Rotzien of Connecticut and Mary Jane Carlson of New Jersey. Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, October 18 at 1:30 p.m. at the Community of Christ Church in Clitherall with burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Lunch to follow at Kountry Korner Kafe in Henning, MN. A future service will be in Hilo, HI with dates pending. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Nodaway Valley Funeral Home of Clarinda, IA and Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Battle Lake, MN.
