Ashby School Board December 17, 2025 Minutes

The School Board of District 261 met in special session on December 17, 2025 in the Cafeteria. Chair B. Johnson called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. with members Anderson, Hovland, Johnson, Olson, Rylander, Stevens, and Wing present. Absent: none. Also present were Superintendent/HS Principal Moore, Ele/MS Principal Megan Peterson, Renee Melby, Renae Steenblock, Dustin Steenblock, Kyle Rylander, Pete Amundson, Kerri Bilben, Trey Fessler, Nicole Olson, Tiff Hokanson, Melisssa Walvatne, Kelly Walvatne, Ashley Lee, Jana Sundeen, Jenna Koep, Chad Koep, Kendal Sethre, Brandon Sethre, Christine Torfin, Aaron Torfin, Megan Mickelson, Karla Mickelson, Holly Thompson, Tim Thompson, Justin Ohren, Chris Rylander, Heather Dewey, Lex Rylander, Hillary Risbrudt, Laura Nelson, and Chad Sethre. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Motion to approve the agenda. Also present were Superintendent/HS Principal Moore, Ele/MS Principal Megan Peterson, Renee Melby, Tom Gronwold, Emily Nelson, and Heather Dewey. Johnson called the Comprehensive Achievement and Civic Readiness (CACR) meeting to order at 6:54 p.m. Principal Moore presented the Comprehensive Achievement and Civic Readiness information. Johnson called the regular meeting to order at 7:06 p.m. The Pledge of Alligance was recited. Motion to approve the agenda. (Stevens/Wing MCU) Motion to approve the following consent agenda: (Wing/Anderson MCU) • Approval of November 19, 2025 minutes • Financial Reports for November 2025 • Approval of bills: November Handpayables: $79,624.02 November Wire Payments: $169,656.96 and December bills: $185,866.61 • Accept donations: Otter Tail Power $2,500 to Robotics Club, Jacqueline Anderson $1,000 to Fifth Grade Wolf Ridge, Gene Haas Foundation $3,000 to Robotics Club Wing reported on Lakes Country Service Coop, Anderson reported on Region 1. Mrs. Peterson gave the Elem/MS Principal report. Mr. Moore gave the HS Principal/Superintendent Report. Tom Gronwold reported on High School Social Studies and Knowledge Bowl. Emily Nelson reported on Kindergarten. Action Items Motion to certify the 2025 Pay 2026 Levy Certification at $1,013,894.24 (Wing/Stevens MCU). Ballots were cast for the Region 1 Board Election.
