Carol H. Gangl, 87, En-derlin, passed away Friday, April 3, 2026 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo ND.
Carol Hannah was born January 5, 1939 in Fergus Falls, MN to Homer and Helen Sem. She grew up on a dairy farm near Phelps, MN alongside her four sisters and three brothers. After graduating from Battle Lake High School, she attended Interstate Business College in Fargo, ND.
Carol began her career working for John Deere in Fargo, where she met Harry B. Gangl. The two were married February 27, 1960 in Fargo. In 1963, they moved to Enderlin, ND where they made their home and raised their four children: Bernard, Brent, Bruce and Brenda.
Carol’s life was defined by her generous spirit and dedication to caring for others. Known to many as Grandma Carol, she served as a teacher’s aide, daycare provider and CNA at Maryhill. Her most cherished role was her work with the Ringdahl Ambulance in Lisbon and her volunteer service with Emergency Medical Services in the surrounding areas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; her son, Brent; her granddaughter, LeAnn; her brother, John and her parents, Homer and Helen.
She is survived by her sons, Bernard (Kristen) of Fort Ransom and Bruce (Polly) of Enderlin; daughter, Brenda (Tanya) Gangl Doyle of Menomonie, WI; daughter-in-law, Linda Gangl of Black Diamond, WA; sisters, Jeanette Hoppes of Fergus Falls, MN; Rosalie Dallmann of Lidgerwood, ND and Ione Krause of Long Prairie, MN; brothers, Donald (Sharon) Sem and Loren (Kristi) Sem, both of Underwood, MN; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will beSaturday, May 9, 2026 at 11 a.m. at the Enderlin Fire Hall in Enderlin.
