Connie Rovelstad, 95, a resident of Underwood, died Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
She was born January 10, 1931 in Underwood, MN the daughter of Harold and Marie (Winans) Lund. She was baptized Constance Margaret Bolette Lund and confirmed at Tingvold Lutheran Church. Connie grew up north of Underwood until the family moved to the Fergus Falls area when she was 15 years old. She attended country school at District #109 and then Underwood High School, and graduating from Fergus Falls High School in 1949.
She worked at the Fergus Falls State Hospital for several years fulfilling her dream to be a nurse. Later she worked at Norby’s Department Store, as a census taker and then was a proud stay-at-home mom. She became an entrepreneur in 1988 doing craft shows for over 20 years with dried flowers and aromatherapy wraps.
In 1951 she married Howard S. Hoff and they added three children, Mi-chael, Kay and Michele (Shelly). Howard passed away in 1971.
She and Selvin Rovelstad were married in 1974 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. Selvin farmed with his father and then on his own on the Rovelstad homestead next door to the Lund homestead where Connie grew up. Selvin then worked until 1989 in the Underwood Public School. They resided on the farm until September of 2011 when they moved to Tamarack Manor in Underwood, where they resided together until Selvin passed in 2013 and then she was on her own until October 2020. Her final years were spent under the care of the Kramer family at Home Appeal in Moorhead, MN.
Connie was an active member of Tingvold Lutheran Church and was also active in 4-H and Campfire Girls. She and Selvin en-joyed 20 years spending their winters in Mesa, AZ where they participated in the choir, she arranged flowers for the church and sold aromatherapy wraps at the Country Store in Valley Del Oro Park.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her first husband, Howard; her second husband, Selvin; a brother, Lenny Lund and his wife, Velma; sister, Jeanette Munson and her husband, Clarence; sister-in-law, Harriet Downs and her husband, Joe; and daughter-in-law, Linda Rovelstad.
Survivors include five children, Halbert Rovelstad of Welton, AZ; Ellen Todd of Sabin, MN; Michael (Tam-my) Hoff of Fergus Falls, MN; Kay Grong Bauer of Crystal, MN and Shelly (Charles) Pingel of Sabin, MN; 11 grandchildren, Seth (Mandy) Rovelstad and Steven (Rachael Pecoraro) Rovelstad, Jennifer (Justin) Davieau and Emily Hinz, Christopher (Ashley) Hoff, Kendell Gray and Taran (Saydi) Hoff, Eric Grong and Amanda (Grant) Aslakson, Tyler Pingel and Timothy Pingel; nine great-grandchildren, Brody and Harper Gray, Tate Hoff, Carley and Jax Hinz, Brentley and Mila Aslakson, and Kayden Hoff; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials are preferred to the Tingvold Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund.
Memorial Service is 1 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2026 at Olson Funeral and Cremation in Fergus Falls with Reverend Zinta Sundby officiating.
Visitation is onehour prior to the service.
Interment will be at Tingvold Cemetery in rural Underwood, MN.
