Kyle Kellington – Battle Lake, MN

Kyle Kellington, 44 of rural Battle Lake passed away Thursday, March 19, 2026.
Kyle Michael Kellington was born May 12, 1981 in Fridley, MN the son of Michael and Debra (Holien) Kellington. Kyle and his dad shared the same birthday.  He attended the Battle Lake Public School and graduating in 1999. He furthered his education for one year at North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton.
He was employed with the Battle Lake Nursing Home, New Brighton Nursing Home, with a bank in Sioux Falls and then with Lakeland Hospice House in Fergus Falls caring for people in their last days.
Kyle was a good person who enjoyed his work and families loved his care. The last few years Kyle was unable to work because of health issues.
Living on the farm was a great satisfaction for Kyle.  He enjoyed nature style shows including The Adventures of the Wilderness Family, Swiss Family Robinson, Little House on the Prairie and Grizzly Adams.
He had countless memories of building forts in the woods, being with his Quarterhorse “QT Quincy Kasa”, his racoon named Rascal, Dachshunds Puddles and Charlie; and was also a talented woodworker. He had a passion for horses and received many accomplishments through FFA, 4-H and Saddle Club where he won State awards in Showmanship. Along with appreciating the outdoors, Kyle especially cherished his time spent with family.
Kyle is survived by his mother, Deb Kellington of rural Battle Lake, MN; two brothers, Aaron Kellington (Daniela Medeiros) of Marina, CA and Joshua Kellington (Kristen Blomgren) of Fergus Falls; uncles, Jim (Colleen) Holien and Jim Schibilla; aunts, Sandra Hanson, Kathy Wendland, Susie (Paul) Walker and Sharon Morin; and by numerous cousins, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael and his grandparents.
Memorial Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Trefoldighed Lutheran Church of rural Battle Lake with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Inurnment will be at Trefoldighed Lutheran Cemetery.
